wanna know why to hire us?
yeah, i don't blame you.
It's a big investment, a big step, a commitment. Let me tell you some reasons why ChicKen ScRatch Studio is the place to be.

1. I have been where you are.
I owned my own ecommerce website, shipped internationally, marketed, branded my product line. I know what it takes to make a business grow and how to make it successful. I have first hand experience of what it is like starting out and I know what it is like trying to expand. I also remember what it is like not knowing what in the world any of the terms like "header", "html" and "payment gateway" meant. It's ok. I am here to walk you through what everything means if you don't know. It's all gravy, baby.

2. I have an eye.
I have 2 actually. BUT, I have the eye for design. I have the eye to not only design something that is super rad and appealing, but I can also throttle it back and do something chic and elegant as well. I have the ability and talent to look at your product and line of business and be able to identify how you should market your products and execute that. My success is your success.

3. I take pride in my work.
My work isn't work to me, it also isn't a hobby. While I may do things differently and act all cool and laid back, my work isn't. *I* may be laid back, but my work is professional. I don't cut corners and my graphics are never second rate.

4. We're a partnership here.
I couldn't do this without you. I am here to listen to you on your visions for your website, logos, branding, etc. I get inspired by what you love. Your feedback is vital to me and to make this work. Let me know if something is good, bad, ugly or terrific and together we will make it all come together.

5. I am honest.
On the reals. It's how my mama raised me. Seriously. Plus, I am Southern and it's like Jiffy cornbread mix, you can't mix Jiffy and call it cornbread. It's a sin, you know. Thou Shall Not Use Jiffy.

6. I am not a web guru.
There, I admit it. It's part of that honesty thing. I know my weak points and I know my strong suits. I am strong in design and weak in coding and programming. I am weak in it mostly because I LOATHE it, so what's a girl to do? Hire out. Yup, I have someone that I work with to do the programming and installation of my websites for my clients. You by all means do not have to use her so if you have someone else, you are more than welcome to use whomever you would like to. I just would like to let you know that I am not a one stop shop who offers hosting, domains and programming. I like to keep my heart where it belongs, which is in my art and in my art alone.

7. I have fun.
If you have learned nothing of me so far, I hope that you have learned that I at least have fun. Actually, I hope that you have decided to hire me, but if not, then at least that I have fun with what I do. I mean, c'mon, if you can't do anything in life, at least have fun, right? Everyday is casual Friday around here and I am so laid back. It's just how I roll, hopefully you do too.

8. I am creative.
You know how the right brain is used for the creative side and the left is used for the... other stuff? Well, my left side doesn't get used quite as much. You can ask my husband. I am CONSTANTLY designing everything. When I look at a letterhead, I immediately "diagnose" the font the company used, or try to envision ways to convert a scenery into a graphic, or look at a collection of produce at the store and think of how awesome of a color palette that would be for a specific client. My wheels are constantly spinning and before I know it, I have walked out of Target only knowing that my child's school uses Lucida font instead of Trebuchet, that I would like to change my standard shopping cart icon into something a bit more complex and I only bought honey crisp apples, cinnamon rolls and a pumpkin spice latte. Now I have to explain to my husband, yet AGAIN, why the right brain ate the left. The creative side is always at work, ALWAYS. It's like a disease, which is good for you... plus I love it!

9. I want you to have so much success.
Truly I do. I wish nothing more for you. Your success and happiness means so much to me. When I think of each client who has called me after their first big sale or show and told me how well they did... to hear the excitement in their voice is one of the best feelings in the world!

10. It's personal.
Obviously, I care deeply about each of you. I support you and believe in you. I want you to dream and dream big. I want to help you to follow your dream! Through this process, I will be there along each step of the way to make sure that those dreams are reached. I get that it sounds SUPER corny. Whatevs. I am not a hugger so we won't virtually hug on it, but we can like... fist bump or something, k?
